Tips and Notes

  • You can use canned pineapple chunks instead of fresh pineapple, but drain them well before making the salsa.
  • You can make the glaze and the salsa ahead of time and store them in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the glaze before using and bring the salsa to room temperature before serving.
  • You can also use a boneless ham for this recipe, but adjust the cooking time accordingly. A general rule is to bake the ham for 15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  • Leftover ham can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. You can use it to make sandwiches, salads, soups, casseroles, or omelets.
